For Immediate Release:
SEAT OF OUR PANTS “SOOP”
7:30PM, Sat., March 7
Community Center, 178 Main St.
Admission $15, accompanied children free
An acoustic contemporary folk band from Marlborough, CT, “SOOP” began playing together very casually – open mic nights and private parties — hence the band’s name. Their repertoire includes some of the best “oldies” of the folk repertoire, and a great deal of music they compose themselves. Audiences enjoy the wide range their music covers and their rich vocal harmonies. Their new CD, called “Fresh Hot SOOP” after the initials of their band’s name, reflects all their musical choices.
Jeff Gorman plays the acoustic bass and harmonica. Gorman’s wife, Carolyn Brodginski, supplies vocals and plays an assortment of string instruments. Mark Hall is the percussionist, who taps away on a boxed drum called a cajón, and also provides vocals. The three are very excited about the recent addition of Mike Frantzen on fiddle.
Tickets are $15 (accompanied children free), at the door as space is available, or in advance(send check with seat and table requirements) to Hampton Rec, Box 143, Hampton, CT 06247. Tickets will be held at the door.
Seating is cabaret style – bring some friends, a picnic and favorite beverages, and enjoy the music in good company.
