Hampton, CT – EASTCONN is offering a new Arts Council that will provide a forum for area arts teachers to meet, work collaboratively and examine ways to both promote student creativity and support learning, using the arts to engage all students.
The Arts Council, which is free to arts educators, will meet from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21, 2015, and again on Jan. 13 and March 30, 2016, at EASTCONN’s Hampton Conference Center, Oak/Elm Rooms, 376 Hartford Turnpike (Route 6), Hampton.
Art, music and drama teachers are encouraged to attend; teachers of other arts-related disciplines are also quite welcome.
The Council, which will be facilitated by EASTCONN Early Childhood Director Diane Gozemba, will focus on integrating the arts into schools’ curricula, and connecting to arts community organizations to enhance programming.
Guest speakers, who will be announced at a later date, will share information on current education developments.
