Logee’s Greenhouses will be hosting their 3rd Annual Summer Solstice Fundraising Celebration June 25th from 10am-6pm. Local artisans, crafters and restaurants will be showcasing their goods, including two micro-breweries. Plus, live music by Foster Wood And String will perform 12-3pm and an acoustic duo, THE KIND BUDS, will perform from 4-6 pm.
“The Access Agency is our local community action agency in the northeast corner who helps combat poverty in our local community, “ says Laurelynn Martin, co-owner of Logee’s, “The Solstice Celebration is a way to give back to our community by bringing together local artisans, crafters, and musicians. Plus we will be showcasing our plants, providing a day of family fun and music and all while raising money for a great cause.”
Logee’s is a hidden treasure in the northeast corner of Connecticut, said retail manager, Gwen Carbone, “We’ve been in business since 1892, yet many local people don’t know we exist.”
Although Admission is Free, which includes live music, kids puppet shows, a walk in the seven-circuit labyrinth, children’s nature art activities, admission to seven greenhouses and more; this year Logee’s will ask for a suggested donation of $5 at the door. “If you can give, give; and if you can’t, just come and enjoy the event,” says Carbone.
