Shellfish-themed Art Competitions (Adult and Youth)
Connecticut Sea Grant is soliciting original submissions of two-dimensional shellfish-themed art (specifically, bivalve shellfish including oysters, mussels, clams, scallops) to be used as cover art for the publications and public outreach materials produced by the Connecticut Shellfish Initiative (http://shellfish.uconn.edu).
Connecticut Sea Grant will award $1000 to the adult artist of the selected artwork as part of the purchase of the image rights for Sea Grant materials. Top ranked youth artists will each receive a $25 gift card. The competition will culminate in an exhibition of the top-ranked works of art at a reception to be held at the UConn Avery Point campus.
Deadline for submissions is August 15, 2016.
