I am excited to offer a unique opportunity to display your art at the State Capitol during the month of January 2018. This is an open invitation and call to all artists in our service region!
Brian Cohen of Positive Expression has offered space to Windham Arts as a contributor of regional artwork in a 250-foot long display area that runs along one side of the underground concourse between the Gold Dome of the State Capitol and Legislative Office Building (LOB). It is open to the public from 8 am to 5 pm – a secure area that sees a great deal of daily traffic from legislators, staff and the public. There is a people mover and a walkway for closer views of the art displays. This is a great opportunity to showcase Quiet Corner artists and arts groups!
Artists should plan for an available 4-foot long by 2 or 3-foot wide area:
You can hang a large piece or two or several smaller ones. No frames please. Just use heavy matte/board/paper or poster board. There are permanent mounting clips along vertical poles that are easy to use and strong enough to hold your work. Include a small information card about your work for each piece.
State Capitol address: 300 Capitol Avenue, Hartford, CT 06106
Limited free parking is available at the LOB
For more information and to participate contact John Murphy at Windham Arts right away. The deadline is December 29, 2017 at 5 pm. Go for it!
