ARTS LEARNING GRANTS DEADLINE EXTENDED

The deadline for the Arts Learning: Connections and Correlations and the Arts Learning: Integration grants has been extended to July 11, 2018!

The Connections and Correlations category is focused on PK-12 school day curriculum. This category is competitive and provides funding for an extension of Arts Access experiences that begin to make connections between arts experience(s) and PK-12 curriculum. Projects may include professional development. Projects engaging a teaching artist(s) MUST engage at least one (1) teaching artist from COA’s Directory of Teaching Artists in the “Connecting” or “Integrating” category.

Grant requests must range between $3,000 – $5,000.

Eligible Applicants:

  • PK-12 School and affiliated Parent Organization
  • 501(c)(3) arts organization seeking to provide a program(s) connecting to/correlating with PK-12 school day curriculum
  • Arts program of a 501(c)(3) non-arts organization seeking to provide a program(s) connecting to/correlating with PK-12 school day curriculum

Funding Period: October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019

The Arts Integration category is focused on PK-12 school day curriculum. The Integration category is competitive and provides funding for sequential arts learning experiences that weave ideas and concepts between and among arts and non-arts disciplines, effectively advancing knowledge and/or skills in an arts discipline while concurrently advancing knowledge and/or skills in other disciplines. Projects may include professional development. Projects engaging a teaching artist(s) MUST engage at least one (1) teaching artist from COA’s Directory of Teaching Artists in the “Integrating” category.

Grant requests must range between $5,000 – $10,000.

Eligible Applicants:

  • PK-12 School and affiliated Parent Organization
  • 501(c)(3) arts organization seeking to provide a program(s) directly supporting PK-12 school day curriculum through arts integration

REMINDER!

The deadline for the Arts Learning: Access category remains the same. The Access category is First Come (and eligible), First Served.

The Arts Access category is for learners of all ages. The Arts Access category provides funding for exposure to the arts through field trips (within CT), school or classroom visits, performance(s),“informance(s)”, and/or lecture demonstrations by artists, artist groups or arts providers.

Grant requests must range between $500 – $1,000.

Eligible Applicants:

  • PK-12 School and affiliated Parent Organization
  • 501(c)(3) arts organization seeking to provide arts access experience(s) in Connecticut
  • Arts program of 501(c)(3) non-arts organization seeking to provide arts access experience(s) in Connecticut

Funding Period: October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019

THE SUPPORTING ARTS GRANT PROGRAM
The Supporting Arts grant program provides unrestricted funding to help support Connecticut’s arts organizations and municipal arts departments as they pursue their mission.  This type of grant is flexible rather than for specific projects or programs and gives the grantee the ability to use the funds where they are most needed.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
An applicant must be either an Arts Organization or a Municipal Arts Department.  See 
Glossary for full definition.  Arts organizations may also apply for an Arts Access grant.
FUNDING

Funding allocations are made according to organizational budget size:

$2,000 – Small: Organizational budget over $30,000 but below $100,000
$5,000 – Mid-Size A: Organizational budget over $100,000 but below $500,000
$10,000 – Mid-Size B: Organizational budget over $500,000 but below $1.5 M
$12,500 – Large: Organizational budget over $1.5 million
