On November 30, COA conducted its first session in a professional development series called Creative Conversations. The first session – Building Up Connecticut’s Arts Workforce – was held at Real Art Ways in Hartford. Arts Program Associate Adriane Jefferson facilitated a conversation around building a landscape across Connecticut filled with a thriving and sustainable workforce which supports young creative (18-40 years old) and start-up businesses.

Creative Conversations is a professional development series related to five (5) strategic initiatives: R.E.A.D.I, Accessibility, Arts Learning, Arts Workforce and Arts & Economic Impact. COA will convene sessions focused on each initiative, each designed in various formats including invitation-only meetings, open registration sessions, fishbowl-style conversations, workshops, and panel presentations.
