The Community School of the Arts (CSA) has history of providing community based programs for over 35 years. In 2014 the University of Connecticut partnered with the Town of Mansfield, ultimately transferring administration of the program. The Community School of the Arts currently offers individual and group music lessons/ensembles, Suzuki guitar and violin classes, visual arts programs for children and adults, visual arts summer camps for children, and the annual community Nutcracker production! In addition to programs with the CSA, the Mansfield Parks and Recreation department offers introductory dance classes for children and adults!
The CSA is proud to be opening a new facility “Lenard Hall” next fall at the intersection of Rtes. 275 and 32 in Storrs/Mansfield, CT.
Arts Center East is home to a rich artistic community. We value our Artist Members, and we invite you to visit our Artist Members page. We are a place where visual artists from across the state and beyond exhibit and sell their work through juried shows and member exhibits. Unique creations of pottery, jewelry, wood crafts, and other gifts made by local artisans fill our year-round gift shop and annual holiday sale. Musical and theatrical performances delight audiences of all ages, and our classrooms are pulsing with the joy of artistic discovery. We are the heart of the arts east of the river.

Students have daily access to creative experiences through a rigorous curriculum that integrates the performing arts with more traditional academic high school subjects. Highly qualified ACT teaching artists and certified teachers work collaboratively to provide students with personalized educational experiences.
