Dear Members,
Following
a survey last year, a majority of participants indicated that they
would be interested in a “Portrait” theme for our Annual Membership
Show this year. We hope this will attract more press coverage than
we’ve had for this group show in the past. Below is a flyer
announcing the show, which is scheduled for MAY this year – a ‘prime’
month for exhibiting!
Please note that the theme extends the interpretation of a “portrait" metaphorically
: it can be a 'portrait of peace', a 'portrait of solitude', of hunger,
etc. – your imagination is free to play! If you choose NOT to
participate in the themed section, that’s fine – you can still display
your work for the community to enjoy. **All work must be for sale.
Elizabeth
Peterson, the new Director of Eastern CT State University’s Akus
Gallery, will jury the exhibit. There will be cash awards for
Best in Show, 1st, 2nd , 2 honorable mentions, and a $25 cash award for the best WRITTTEN
interpretation of your portraiture, donated by Professor Emeritus, Paul Zelanski.
Drop off and registration is scheduled for: Saturday, April 26th, from Noon – 3 p.m.
Open to all WindhamARTS Individual and Participating members.
You may join and register on April 26th.
Opening Reception and Award Presentation: Fri., May 2nd, 5 – 7 p.m.
All welcome!
The exhibit will be open to the public May 2 - 22nd, 2008.
