Gabrielle Zane’s work both in poetry and visual arts, explores the realms of connection and longing for intimacy and how they affect our relationships to nature, others, and ourselves. The concept of time has a strong presence in her work. Her photographs and collages attempt to portray time as malleable and strive to evoke a sense of reminiscence, of being present, and glimpsing the future simultaneously. Ms Zane states, “I practice my work in the arts, be it performance, writing, or visual arts, as a way to continue to notice how attention to the "ordinary" things in life can bring us to larger truths of our existence, assuage our grief, and make us feel less alone.”
