Born in China, Qimin received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Institute of Chinese Traditional Drama, a Masters from Iowa State University and aMasters of Fine Arts from Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He has taught art in many universities but presently is an Assistant Professor of Art at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic.
Mr. Liu believes that deep down in human nature, we all have certain thing
in common: the constant search for socia responsibility, the desire to care
for others, and the tendency to share with others. He has always been
concerned with social issues and problems and tries to use art to present
positive thoughts and ideas. He notes that, “…although my work carries an
undertone of social criticism, it is not created to promote any particular
political agenda, but is created for the concern of humanity alone.
