 WindhamARTS Collaborative hosted the first community exhibit of drawings from the Windham
Figure Drawing Group this March. The exhibit, Go Figure was on
display at WindhamARTS March 7th to 27th, 2008.
The exhibit features work by the Windham Figure Drawing Group, which consists of both professional and non-professional artists who have utilized studio space at Eastern Connecticut State University for the past 25 years, and continue to meet weekly. The group’s emphasis is based on observing and drawing the human figure. Each artist is able to develop their own artistic abilities by experimenting with different media or developing new creative ideas of expression. This exhibit will demonstrate the diversity of styles and different approaches each of these artists take as they work from the human figure.
The Windham Figure Drawing group meets every Monday evening from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. in room 102 in Shafer Hall at Eastern Connecticut State University. There is an $8.00 fee for the model. There is no fee for Eastern students. Artists of all levels are welcome to join.
he Go Figure exhibit will be display through March 27th, 2008 at WindhamARTS Collaborative, located at 866 Main Street, in Willimantic, CT. A meet and greet reception is planned for Friday March 7th from 5-7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
