Audrey Mucci, the first prize winning artist of the 2005 Regional Juried Exhibit, will have her first solo exhibit A Woman’s Work Is Never Done on Thursday, April 13^th. At the Windham Area Arts Center and Gallery, located at 866 Main St. in Willimantic.  The hours for this exhibition are Tuesday through Friday from 12 noon-5pm. The Opening reception will be held on Friday April 14^th from 5-8pm. The exhibit will run until May 21^st.

Ms. Mucci’s mixed media sculptures draw upon the common objects of her experience as a woman, daughter, sister, wife mother and friend.  She is especially drawn to items that have been used, rusted or yellowed with age.  Audrey states,  “When I use these pieces or parts to make sculpture, I can see my life.  It’s like putting together a puzzle.  I don’t know where every piece will eventually go but I believe I am heading in the right direction.  The puzzle that I am assembling is my own.”

Ms. Mucci was the first prizewinner of WAAC’s first juried art exhibit.  Juror Christopher Sweet artist and editor-in-chief of Vendome Press in New York chose Mucci’s work from a large pool of local artists.
