Film

textile industry in Willimantic with historian, Bev York.
In
this blistering, satirical documentary, ex-journalist Michael Moore
gives a personal account of the tough times in his hometown of Flint,
Mich., after the General Motors plant was closed in the mid-1980s. The
film revolves around Moore's dogged attempts to gain an interview with
Roger Smith, the elusive and well-insulated head of GM and the man
responsible for massive layoffs that eliminated more than 30,000 jobs
and left the town destitute.

This
film tells the incredible true story of a 23-year-old medical student
from Argentina, Che Guevara (yes, that Che, played here by Gael Garcia
Bernal), who motorcycled across South America with his friend Alberto
Granado (Rodrigo de la Serna) in 1951-52. The trek became a personal
odyssey that ultimately crystallized the young man's budding
revolutionary beliefs. Walter Salles's film is based on Che's own
diaries of the trip.
