I have long shot traditional, realistic photographs. I have recently moved into the abstraction of digital art. My current work is best described as transformative photography.
Using a traditional photograph as a point of departure, I transform it into something less realistic. I retain the visual components of the original photograph but in various levels of abstraction. Natural patterns and light are captured and emphasized. The result is not quite a photo, not quite a painting, it is something in between. At the most abstract, all recognizable form is lost and all that remains is what had been the subliminal pattern of the scene.
All work is printed on museum and fine art media.
