Duane resides in Northeastern, CT ( known as"Connecticut's Quiet Corner") and considers himself in artist using Photography and Alternative Printmaking as his chosen mediums of expression. His work features the environmental landscape, shoreline, gardening, antiques and architectural details of structures. His photographs reflect his passion for preserving landscape views, and historical icons for future generations to enjoy. He uses 35mm, 2 1/4, 4 X 5 and Panoramic format cameras. All of his photographs are planned and executed under his technical supervision; in the studio or on location. After the photographic image has been created on film, the presentation of that image via the photographic print may be made using conventional or alternative photographic processes : Silver, Sepia, Cyanotype, Hand colored, Polaroid Transfer or Manipulated
Polaroid Prints. His ability to be patient and work through complex situations while waiting for the decisive moment to trip the camera shutter in the field, has been compared to Ansel Adams by one of his past photographic mentors. He travels to locations throughout New England and along the East Coast tomake photographs for his clients and photographic library. The photographs on file are made available to: Commercial clients, Book Publishers, Greeting Cards Co., and Regional New England Travel Magazines. He also self-publishes a selection of his Connecticut and Rhode Island photographs under the name of Creative Photo Products: Photographic Note Cards, Signed FineArt prints, and Photo Specialty Products. Duane is a member of The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP),International Association of Panoramic Photographers (IAPP) and an Elected Artist Member of the Mystic Arts Center (formerly known as the Mystic Art Association), Mystic, CT.
