Textural Treasures - The Artwell Connection, will run from January 10 - 31, 2008. This unique exhibit is the result of a collaborative project that was initiated by the Artwell Gallery of Torrington, Connecticut in March 2007. The show invited artists from the tri-state region to submit one piece of artwork for review by over 30 commercial and non-profit art galleries and museums in the tri-state region who commited to participate in the project. Over 250 artists submitted artwork, which was then viewed and selected by art establishments from other state and regional communities.

The Windham Arts Collaborative selected eight artists whose work represented creative approaches and characteristics.  The resulting exhibit is comprised of large-scale and found object sculpture, mixed-media, and collage works. Exhibiting artists include Heather Grustas (mixed-media), Peter Dellert (sculpture/mixed-media), Eileene Pennvenne (collage), Amelia de Neergaard (found object sculpture), Marilyn Wiener (mixed-media), Barbara Scavotto-Earley (sculpture), Charmaine L. Frost (found-object sculpture, mixed-media, and photography), and Paul Sakren (found-object sculpture). The artists reside in Torrington, Enfield, New Preston, Bantam, and West Cornwall, and
Housatonic, N.Y.
