The Song-a-Day Music Fund is proud to announce that Allison Rainwater of Columbia, CT, has been selected as the 2012 recipient of the Annual Song-a-Day Music Scholarship.
Allison is a 2012 graduate of Windham High and former student of the ACT Performing Arts Magnet school, also in Windham. She has had a busy musical career in high school, being part of the WHS Chorus and Chamber Choir along with playing woodwinds for the Concert Band, and upright bass in the Orchestra. Allison has repeatedly been awarded First Place for piano in the annual Windham Regional Arts Council Young Artists Music Competition.
This fall, Allison begins her college studies in the Music Department at the University of Connecticut where she plans to major in Music Education and work toward a degree in Music Therapy.
The Song-a-Day Music Fund awards an annual scholarship to an area graduating senior who plans further study in the area of music. The Song-a-Day Music Fund is operated by the Song-a-Day Music Center, 2809 Boston Turnpike in Coventry. The fund is committed to supporting the study and efforts of emerging and practicing musicians.
