Willimantic, Conn. – From Jan. 21-Feb. 25, the new Art Gallery at Eastern Connecticut State University is presenting its first ever art exhibition in Eastern’s new Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC).
“In Place, In Time” is curated by Anne Dawson, professor of art history and chair of the Art and Art History Department at Eastern. The exhibition features local Windham photographer T. Harrison Judd, a contemporary artist whose images share subject matter and themes similar to the paintings of 19th century Windham artist J. Alden Weir. The striking connections capture the timelessness of art, highlighting connections between contemporary and historical artwork.
“In Place, In Time” celebrates the Windham community and the opening of Eastern’s FAIC. The opening of the exhibition drew a large number of students, staff members and community members. The exhibition will remain on display until Feb. 25 and; admission is free. There will also be an artist talk in the Art Gallery on Jan. 28 from 4-5 p.m.
