We are looking for volunteers to assist with an important accessibility project at selected kayak/canoe launch sites along the Quinebaug River. Our team has been assessing a different Water Trail segment one morning every week. Once the kayak/canoe launches are complete, we would like to begin assessing The Airline Trail.
Up to 5 people are needed to help measure slope, distance, and other features at the public launch and trail locations. This information is very helpful to the physically disabled community in determining the accessibility of the site for their own use.
All of the launches and trails are close to parking lots and only mild physical activity is needed. Dress for the weather and bring drinks. We’ll provide some snacks.
If you are interested in joining or have questions, please call 860- 774-3300 or email LyAnn. Thank you!
