This online survey is critically important as a way for us to receive input from residents and those involved in historic preservation across the state. We greatly appreciate your participation! The survey should take no longer than 7-10 minutes to complete. It will help us gain input on issues important to you and your communities.
The SHPO is responsible for overseeing the governmental program of historic preservation for Connecticut’s citizens. The SHPO works to identify and increase appreciation for the buildings, structures, landscapes, archaeological sites, events/stories, people and places that form Connecticut’s heritage. Much of that work is understanding why these resources contribute to our culture and how to maintain them. Our programs include financial incentives for bricks and mortar work, technical advice, historic designations, review of specific projects for appropriate treatments, and local support. In addition to our programs, we operate four state museums and work closely with other state agencies to provide services to our communities.
Your input is important so we can serve you better! Please stay in touch as the planning process proceeds this summer and fall and continue to provide input as concepts and recommendations for the preservation plan are developed. Any questions or comments, feel free to email us at SHPO.Plan@ct.gov
Thank you again for participating in this survey!
