CT Historic Preservation Conference
When: May 17-18, 2019
Where: Friday, May 17 – Omni Hotel, 155 Temple Street, New Haven (full day conference)
                   and
Saturday, May 18 – Henry Whitfield State Museum, 248 Old Whitfield Street, Guilford
                  (half-day, hands-on demonstrations)
This year’s theme is Back to Basics and we are thrilled to announce that Thompson Mayes, author of Why Old Places Matter and Vice President/Senior Counsel at the National Trust for Historic Preservation will be our keynote speaker.  Tentative sessions for Friday’s conference include:
  • Crafting a Statement of Significance for State and National Register Nominations
  • Interpreting the Secretary of the Interior Standards
  • Messaging for Advocacy
  • Planning a successful capital improvement project
  • Just to name a few!
We’ve added a second day to our agenda!  Saturday’s half-day demonstrations will include masonry repointing, window repair, monument conservation, and more!
