STORRS, CT – With a high-energy blend of swinging live music, silky smooth vocals, witty banter, and world-class tap dancing, The Tap Pack will take the cabaret stage at UConn’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday evening, February 15 for a concert paying homage to the legendary “kings of swing”, The Rat Pack, and its famously talented members: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.
The dazzling two-hour performance not only features treasured old school favorites originally performed by Frank, Dean, and Sammy like “Lady Is a Tramp”, “Come Fly with Me”, “One for My Baby”, and “Me and My Shadow”; the dapper five-man ensemble will also put its own twist on contemporary hits from artists such as Sheeran, Bublé and Beyoncé. Get yourself ready for two hours of old school cool from the new kings of swing.
Presented in Jorgensen’s intimate candle-lit cabaret setting, the performance gets underway at 8 pm. Cabaret fare, desserts, and beverages will be available from a cash bar when doors open at 7 pm. Patrons are also invited to the opening reception of the photography exhibit “Scott Fisher: Nature Calling” at 6 pm (prior to the performance) in the Jorgensen Gallery on the lower level.
