GREAT NEWS FOR ARTISTS!!
THE CT OFFICE OF THE ARTS HAS 2 NEW GRANTS!
These grants will be open for two weeks. You will need to get your applications in ASAP! If you need help with applying please call Windham Arts at 860-423-6389 or email info@WindhamArts.org. Here is the info on both:
ARTIST RELIEF GRANT
120 grants awarded, $500 each
This program will provide grants of $500 to individual artists for basic relief. With events of all types being cancelled to reduce the spread of COVID-19, people who make income partially or fully through artist gigs, exhibits, events and freelance work are losing critical opportunities to support their well-being in our state. With funding from the New England Foundation for the Arts, the Connecticut Artists Relief Fund provides $500 grants to individual artists who live in Connecticut and whose creative practices and incomes are being adversely impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19).
CT ARTIST RESPOND GRANT
Artists help us through challenging times by providing us relief through inspiration, connection, and education. The Connecticut Artists Respond program provides funding for artists at a time when the creative sector is needed most. Grants for individuals artists are $1,000 and $2,000 for an artist collaboration. These grants will be used to fund projects by artist that take place between now and October 1 2020. They will be presented online and free of charge. They may be exhibits, talks, lectures, classes, dance/theater/music experiences, etc. Funds will primarily be used for self-compensation to the artist. (think of this program as an online “virtual” WPA program for CT artists.)
